Jim Corbett National Park: Canter Jungle Safari

Only the Dhikala, the deepest region of Jim Corbett National Park offers Canter Safari under name of Ramaganga Conducted Tour. Dhikala Canter safari in Jim Corbett National Park is the best way to explore the Dhikala zone forest. The Canter Safari is an excellent way to explore the Corbett National Park. Mounted on a 16-seater open-air bus, the Canter safari offers a community wildlife experience, which is perfect for family outings/ group trips and best suitable for kids, women and senior citizens in large group who choose to stay outside the park in any Hotels/Resorts.

A Canter which takes in 12-16 passengers and starts off from Ramnagar in the morning and afternoon respectively. Which canter went to Dhikala in the morning time it return to the base in afternoon, similarly afternoon canter comes back to the base in evening. Your pick up/drop point can be Ramanagar or Dhangarhi Gate.

The Dhikala grasslands, called "Chaurs" of Corbett National Park is probably the finest to observe tigers and other wildlife in its natural habitat. The meandering Ramganga river adds to the beauty of the landscape and provides the essential water souscre to all wildlife. The reservoir forms a part of the largest man made lake to feed the Hydro electricity project at Kalagarh.

Canter Safari

Post Monsoon, normally Canter Safari opens on/after 15 November onward (for which booking may starts 15 October onward.) and remain open till 15 June each year.

The park administration conducts the Canter Safari for around 05 hrs extensive to have wild experience in two shifts-

1. The first is from 06:00 AM. in the sunrise time and

2. The second in the afternoon from 12:00 PM.

Entry to the Dhikala Zone is through Dhangarhi Gate where there is Corbett National Park Museum. Entry to museum is open to public and every individual have to take a entry tickets.

For a Canter Safari:

1. ID Proof: DL Number, PAN Card Number, Voter ID, Passport Number (Only for Foreigners), etc.

2. The Traveller has to carry the same ID Proof as submitted in this form, while visiting Corbett National Park.

3. The Canter will be available at common points: Corbett Reception, Ramnagar OR Dhangari Gate, Corbett.

4. Each Traveller has to join the Canter at their own.

5. Pick-up & drop point for safari is Ramnagar city but can be done from any Hotel/Resort on extra cost which depends on its location.

6. Safari Charges will be NON-REFUNDABLE/NON-RESHEDULABLE/NON-TRANSFERABLE if permit is booked/confirmed.

7. For advance booking of jungle safari, please intimate us 30days in advance (for Indian nationals).

8. Foreign nationals can ask for booking 90 days in advance: passport details are mandatory for making reservation of foreigner tourists.

9. Safari permit is issued on first come first serve basis (subject to availability).

NOTE

The park authority of Wildlife Warden or in-charge may cancel your permit for any good and sufficient reasons to be recorded in writings. As the entire periphery of the Jim Corbett National Park falls under restricted and protected area, so official permission is required to visit the core area of the tiger territory.

All the procedures of Canter Safari Booking at Corbett are managed by the forest officials as per the guidelines of India's forest department. Please note that we cannot influence the safari zone, safari driver and the naturalist guide as it is not in our hand.
