Shri Jagannath Puri Dham
Get blessing of lord of the Universe Shri Hari Narayana Bhagwan Vishnu, present in Puri (Dham of Kalyuga) with his brother Shri Balabhadra and sister Shri Subhadra".
Jagannath Puri dham is one of the Brihad (Bharatbarsha) Chardham holy site. It is also the Dham of Kalyuga.
Puri, located in the east, is located in the state of Odisha, India. Puri is one of the oldest cities in the eastern part of the country. It is situated on the Bay of Bengal coast.
The main deity is Shri Krishna, revered as Jagannatha. It is the only shrine in India where goddess Subhadra(sister of Shri Krishna), is worshipped along with her brothers, Jagannatha and Balabhadra.
The main temple here is more than 1000 years old and constructed by Raja Choda Ganga Deva and Raja Tritiya Ananga Bhima Deva. The deities within the shrine, however, are believed to be much older and are associated with the great Suryawanshi ruler of the Treta-yuga, King Indrayumna, nephew of Bhagwan Shri Ramachandra.
This is the plume for Oriya people to celebrate a special day in this Dham which is known as Ratha Yatra ("Chariot Festival").
As per legends, Shri Krishna's heart is placed here and the material that it is made from damages the heart so they have to change it every twelve years.
Puri is the site of the Govardhana Matha, one of the four cardinal institutions or Mathas converted by Adi Shankara. It has one of the most beautiful beach in the Bay of Bengal
Shri Lingraj Temple
Lingaraj Temple is the largest and the most sacred shrine of the Temple City Bhubaneswar. The temple is devoted to Bhagwan Shri Harihara, which essentially means it is dedicated to Shri Hari (Bhagwan Shri Vishnu) and Shri Hara (Bhagwan Shri Shiva).Built in the 11th century, this place of worship houses a Swayambhu (self-manifested) Shivalinga, which is believed to be 8 feet in diameter and 8 inches tall.
Konark Sun Temple
The Sun Temple at Konârak is one of the outstanding examples of temple architecture and art. Konark houses a massive temple dedicated to the Sun God. The word 'Konark' is a combination of two words 'Kona' and 'Arka'. 'Kona' means 'Corner' and 'Arka' means 'Sun', so when combines it becomes 'The Sun of the Corner'.
Legend says that after killing the demon Gyasur, Lord Vishnu placed his four Ayudhas, things that he holds in his four hands, at several places to commemorate the victory. He placed the Sankha(conch) at Puri, Chakra(disc) at Bhubaneshwar, Gada(mace) at Jajpur and Padma(lotus) at Konark. So Konark is also known as Padma khetra.
The Konark temple is constructed as a gigantic chariot with 24 wheels about 3 meters high and pulled by 7 horses, housing the Sun God within.Everyday, the Sun's rays would reach the Deul (main temple tower) from the coast and reflects from the diamond placed at the center of the idol. A heavy magnet was placed at the temple top and every two stones of the temple is crammed by iron plates. The idol was said to have been floating in air due to the arrangement of magnets. The magnet at the top is said to have disturbed compasses for coastal voyagers and later on removed
