Story : Shri Badrinath Dham
Get blessing of lord of the Universe Shri Hari Narayana Bhagwan Vishnu, present in Badrinathpuri in form of "Shaligram Shila".
Badrinath dham is one of the both Chardham holy site- Chota (Himalyan) as well as Brihad (Bharatbarsha)
As per legend Shri Hari Narayana Bhagwan Vishnu has meditated here and Mata Shri Lakshami stood next to him in form of Badari Tree. She is called "Badari Vishal" and Bhagwan Shri Hari called "Badrinath".
As per Bhagawata-Purana: Shri Hari Narayana Bhagwan Vishnu performed austerity at this place in his incarnation as "Nar-Naryana".
As per another lengend, Shri Hari Narayana Bhagwan Vishnu (in a child form) liked this place and got permission from Bhagwan Shri Har Shiva to medidated at this place.
In 8th Century, Guru Shri Adi Shankracharya Shankar discovered a black stone image (Shaligram Shila) of Lord Badrinarayan in the Alaknanda River. He originally enshrined it in a cave near the Tapt Kund hot springs. In the 16th century, the King of Garhwal moved the murti to the present temple.
According to Jain scripture Shrimadbhagwat, at this place Rishabhdev's father Nabhirai and mother Marudevi had done hard Tapa after Rishabhdev's Rajyabhishek and taken Samadhi. Even today footprint of Nabhirai at Neelkanth mountain attracts everybody towards him.
As you know, after completing the pilgrimage of Shri Har Mahadeva Bhagwan Shiva's darshan, it is an dharmic rite to visit Bhagwan Shri Hari Vishnu, as a final affirmatory proof by the devotee that he has sought blessings of Bhagwan Shiva. Therefore we are scheduling your dharshan to Shri Kalpeshwar dham (the 5th Kedar) before Shri Badrinath Dham.
